Born in Kansas and reared in Illinois, Karen resided in Connecticut before moving to South Carolina in 1988. She brings over 28 years of real estate practice and the experience of 14 family moves to every transaction. After majoring in accounting at The University of Kansas, Karen married and had two daughters before entering real estate. She was initially licensed in Illinois in 1978, where she worked with residential Buyers and Sellers in the west suburbs of Chicago. Later, her firm's partners asked her to take charge of the administrative management of the company.

In 1984, the family moved to Greenwich, CT where Karen managed a relocation counseling company serving Fairfield County. In addition to the typical administrative duties, her responsibilities included recruiting corporate clients, counseling their employees moving into the greater New York City area, and coordinating their final relocation with area Realtors. Upon completion of the Connecticut licensing requirements, she joined a firm and was selected for their relocation team."

Karen and her family relocated to the Charleston area in 1988. She completed the requirements for a South Carolina license and began assisting Buyers and Sellers throughout the tri-county. She also managed and marketed properties for PHH Homequity, a major relocation services company, until it was purchased by Cendant Corporation.

Karen is committed to continually upgrading her real estate education. She has completed the classwork and passed the exams required to earn the designations as Broker, Graduate Real Estate Institute (GRI), Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR), Certified Real Estate Specialist (CRS), Accredited Luxury Home Specialist (ALHS), & ePRO. She is a member of the East Cooper Top Producers Club and A Realtor of Distinction in the Charleston/Trident Association of Realtors.
